Sawtell Peak dominates this high-altitude landscape along the Continental Divide, where the borders of Idaho and Montana meet. The rugged terrain transitions from the deep Rock Creek Basin and Hell Roaring Canyon in the west toward the broad waters of Henrys Lake in the northeast. This 2013 survey captures a region primarily defined by federal land management, split between Targhee National Forest and Beaverhead National Forest.
