Schell Buttes rise above the surrounding prairie in this recent survey of south-central North Dakota. This section of Starkey Township is characterized by a high-density grid of gravel and section-line roads, such as 75th St SE and 29th Ave SE, that define the modern agricultural landscape. In the center of the quadrangle, Saint Anthonys Cem serves as a primary genealogical landmark, situated near the headwaters of Beaver Cr. The map documents the boundary between Logan Co and Mcintosh Co, following the line of 78th St SE. The terrain is marked by numerous prairie potholes and wetlands typical of the region, interspersed among well-defined township sections including t133n r73w and t134n r72w.
