Segihatsosi Canyon and the high plateaus of Navajo County define this portion of the Navajo Nation. The landscape is characterized by massive landforms such as Azansosi Mesa and Tyende Mesa, where the elevation drops into deep drainages like Adahchijiyahi Canyon and Laughing Canyon. Water, though seasonal, is the primary sculptor of the terrain, moving through Oljato Wash and Cutfoot Wash.
