Kachemak Bay State Park encompasses the southern reaches of this coastal survey, where the glacial drainage of Grewingk Creek meets the tidal flats of Kachemak Bay. The terrain transitions from the steep, carved walls of McNeil Canyon in the north to the distinctive landform of Glacier Spit in the south. This environment is defined by its watercourses, including Beaver Creek, McNeil Creek, and Cottonwood Creek, which feed into the bay across areas of mud and sand. The presence of Humpy Cr in the southeast corner further illustrates the dense network of drainage systems typical of the Kenai Peninsula's wilderness areas before significant modern development reached these specific park boundaries.
