Cinder Mtn rises from the desert floor as the primary topographical landmark in this arid section of southwestern Arizona. Situated within a vast system of Public Land Survey System grids, the area is defined by the intersection of townships and ranges including t7s r8w, t7s r7w, and t6s r8w. The landscape exhibits a spare network of unimproved roads and survey lines that traverse the basin floor between low-lying desert peaks. This 2018 survey by the U.S. Geological Survey captures the remote character of the Maricopa County terrain, where land use is dictated by the large, geometric boundaries of government-managed desert tracts.
