The Cabinet Mountains dominate the high-elevation landscape of Sanders County, where the Kaniksu National Forest and Lolo National Forest converge. This modern survey illustrates the steep drainage patterns of the Vermilion River and the complex network of mountain summits including Grouse Mtn, Cataract Peak, and the namesake Seven Point Mtn. The terrain is deeply incised by numerous gulches such as Lyons Gulch, Cameron Gulch, and Grimes Gulch, which feed into the Noxon Reservoir on the Clark Fork.
