Boise National Forest encompasses the vast majority of this 2017 landscape, where the Middle Fork Boise River and N Fork Boise River converge near the northwestern boundary. The terrain is defined by a dense network of drainages including Devils Creek, Vaughn Cr, and Repeat Cr that carve through the high elevations of the Boise Mountains. Human infrastructure is minimal, centered largely on the Atlanta Road which follows the river corridor, providing access to this backcountry. High peaks such as Sheep Mtn and the designated wilderness of the William Pogue National Recreat dominate the central and eastern portions of the map. The map captures the complex topography of the Rattlesnake Basin and Bear Gulch, illustrating the hydrological divide between the different forks of the Boise River system.
