Metolius Wild and Scenic River carves a deep path through the high desert landscape of Jefferson County, defining the southern half of this Jefferson County quadrangle. The river serves as a primary drainage for several tributaries, including Code Creek and Bean Creek, as it passes below the prominent volcanic escarpment of Green Ridge. To the north, the terrain transitions into the high plateau of the Metolius Bench and the drainages of Seekseequa Creek and the Whitewater River.
