2017 Map of Sidon

About this map

Sidon and the surrounding rural uplands of White County are defined by a network of ridges and hollows that historically dictated settlement patterns. The landscape is dotted with small communities like Joy, Gravel Hill, and Center Hill, connected by winding roads that often follow the natural contours of Georgia Ridge and other local heights. The drainage system is intricate, with Little Cr and its tributaries such as Bad Luck Cr and Hog Foot Cr cutting through the terrain. Evidence of long-standing local heritage is found at the Sidon Cem and Pleasant Ridge Cem, while the inclusion of the Sweet Springs Airport and Brown's Airport highlights more recent transportation infrastructure. The county line between Cleburne and White County runs through the northern portion of the quadrangle near Spout Springs Hollow.
