Sitkum and the surrounding valley floor are defined by the winding course of the East Fork Coquille River, which serves as the primary drainage for this portion of the Coast Range. The settlement pattern is concentrated in the southern half of the map, particularly within Brewster Valley and near Brewster Canyon, where the terrain yields to the river's path. To the north, the landscape becomes significantly more complex, dominated by Burnt Mtn and the long expanse of Burnt Ridge.
