The Webster and Hopkins county line divides this rural landscape, which is defined by an extensive network of family cemeteries and small crossroads settlements. Slaughters and Veazey anchor the northern reaches of the sheet, while the northern outskirts of Madisonville and Manitou lie to the south. The terrain transitions from the low-lying drainage of Deer Creek and Pond Creek to the more prominent Shake Rag Hills and Yarbro Hill.
