About this map

Snyder and Mountain Park anchor this Kiowa County landscape at a time when the regional water infrastructure was well-established. To the north, the Tom Steed Reservoir and Mountain Park Dam manage the flow of West Otter Creek, while the town of Mountain Park sits just south of its namesake Mountain Park Cemetery. The area's agricultural and rural character is defined by a rigid grid of section-line roads, including n2270 RD and e1600 RD, which connect smaller locales like Svoboda to the primary transit corridors. In the south, Fairlawn Cemetery overlooks the junction where Us HWY 62 Bus splits from the newer highway alignment. The drainage patterns of East Otter Creek and the West Fork Deep Red Creek illustrate the natural watershed that supported early 20th-century settlement in this part of southwestern Oklahoma.
