Canaseraga Creek carves a wide, low-lying floodplain through the heart of this Livingston County landscape, flanked by the upland settlements of Mount Morris and Groveland. The topography is defined by the sharp transition between the alluvial flats of the Genesee River valley and the rising ridges to the east and west. This contemporary record of the region captures the spatial relationship between historic institutional sites and local rural communities, most notably at Sonyea, where the Craig State School Cem is situated near the Keshequa Cr drainage.
