Deerneck Mesa and the elevated reaches of Three Step Hill dominate this high-desert landscape in San Juan County, Utah. The terrain is defined by a complex network of drainage systems including East Canyon Wash and the winding course of Sop Canyon, which is supported by the localized Sop Spring. These watercourses carve deep through the plateau, creating prominent landmarks such as South Canyon Point and Iron Canyon Point that overlook the surrounding draws.
