Canyonlands National Park and the surrounding high desert plateaus of San Juan County are meticulously documented in this late-twentieth-century study. The landscape is defined by its remarkable density of natural sandstone formations and archaeological sites, including the Keyhole Ruins and Tower Ruin located north of Paul Bunyans Potty. The eastern boundary is marked by the prominence of South Six-shooter Peak and the high elevations of Bridger Jack Mesa, while the interior is carved by deep drainage systems like Davis Canyon and Lavender Creek.
