2000 Map of Spiral Butte

About this map

Spiral Butte rises as a prominent landmark in this high-elevation landscape within Yakima Co, where the William O Douglas Wilderness and Goat Rocks Wilderness meet. The geography is defined by a dense network of alpine water bodies, including the Twin Sisters Lakes, Dumbbell Lake, and the larger reservoirs of Clear Lake and Rimrock Lake at the southern end. This era shows the developed recreation corridor along the White Pass Scenic Byway, which provides access to the Dog Lake Campground and Clear Lake Campground. Evidence of local resource use appears at the Quarry and Gravel Pit near the small landing at Dudley. Extensive meadow systems like Blankenship Meadows and Indian Creek Meadows offer a counterpoint to the steep peaks of Arnesons Peak and Tumac Mountain, illustrating the varied topography preserved within the surrounding National Forest lands.
