The Little Missouri National Grassland dominates this portion of Slope County, North Dakota, where the high plains meet the erosion-carved breaks of the badlands. The north-flowing Little Missouri River enters the northwestern corner of the quadrangle, serving as a primary drainage for the surrounding draws and coulees. Much of the land is managed as public grazing territory, punctuated by sections of private ownership that follow the rigid Public Land Survey System grid.
