The Wisconsin River defines the landscape of this region, its wide channel braiding around numerous islands including Metcalf Island, Deer Island, and Long Island. The village of Spring Green serves as the central hub, supported by the Spring Green Post Office and local recreation at the Spring Green Municipal Golf Course. To the south, across the river, the terrain rises toward Tower Hill and the community of Helena, where the Old Helena Cemetery marks the area's local heritage near Pecks Landing.
