Lake Havasu City occupies the northwestern corner of this study, positioned where the urban grid meets the arid expanses of the Mojave Desert. The landscape is defined by an intricate network of desert drainages, most notably Standard Wash, which carves a path through the center toward the west. To the south, the Aubrey Hills provide a distinct topographic break from the surrounding flats, while the Bill Williams Mountains rise in the southeast, marking the edge of the desert floor.
