The Quinault National Fish Hatchery sits in the northwestern corner of this territory, where the terrain transitions from the low-lying wetlands of the Copalis River basin toward the rising slopes of the Olympic Mountains. This region of Grays Harbor County is defined by its drainage networks, where the Stevens Creek and its many tributaries flow southward to join the Humptulips River. Much of the landscape is protected within the Olympic National Forest, showing a modern forest management layout interspersed with logging roads such as Donkey Creek Rd and Rd 8000.
