Stevens Mesa and the northern reaches of the Henry Mountains dominate this high-desert landscape at the border of Wayne and Garfield counties. The terrain is defined by a series of dramatic elevation changes, from the prominent Oak Creek Ridge in the northeast to the expansive Upper Blue Hills in the northwest. Water sources are scarce but critical in this arid environment, marked by isolated points such as Indianwater Seep and Maidenwater Spring.

The drainage patterns of Sweetwater Cr, Cedar Cr, and Oak Cr carve through the sedimentary layers, revealing the geological complexity of the Cedar Creek Bench. In the southern portion of the quadrangle, Dry Wash and Dugout Cr illustrate the seasonal nature of local waterways. This 2017 survey provides a high-resolution view of a remote region where the land's utility is primarily defined by topography and seasonal water access rather than permanent settlement.
