Stevens Mesa and the surrounding high desert terrain define this corner of South Central Utah, where the border between Wayne and Garfield counties cuts through a landscape of plateaus and intermittent drainage systems. The geography is characterized by prominent flat-topped landforms including Thompson Mesa to the west and Wildcat Mesa in the southwest, separated by the erosion of Sweetwater Creek and Dry Wash.
