Saguaro Lake and the Salt River anchor this desert landscape within the Tonto National Forest in Maricopa County. The terrain is defined by dramatic elevation changes, from the depths of Willow Springs Canyon and Bulldog Canyon to the summits of the Goldfield Mountains, Dome Mtn, and Stewart Mtn. A significant crossing point is found at Sheep Bridge, which spans the river east of Blue Point.
