The ridges of Johns Mtn and Horn Mtn dominate the landscape of northwestern Georgia, framing a series of narrow valleys where rural life has centered for generations. Within the Chattahoochee National Forest, specialized terrain features like The Pocket and Keown Falls define the drainage of Pocket Cr, while the larger East Armuchee Valley follows the western edge of the mountains.
