The Chattahoochee National Forest dominates the western portion of this landscape, where high ridges like Johns Mtn, Mill Mtn, and Horn Mtn define the terrain. These elevations overlook protected pockets and valleys, including the distinctive area known as The Pocket and its associated Lake Marvin. To the east, the topography transitions into the agricultural and residential corridors of Sugar Valley and Hill City, which are served by an extensive network of county roads such as Sugar Valley Rd NW.
