West Branch Fox River and the Little Fox River converge in this wetland-dense section of Schoolcraft County, where the landscape is defined by glacial kettle lakes and extensive marshlands. The hydrology of the area is managed in part by the Taylor Dam, which regulates flow near Taylor Lake and Sucker Lake. The region is characterized by its numerous small water bodies, including Section Seven Lake, Duck Hole Lake, and the namesake Sunken Lake.
