Suwannee sits at the terminus of the Suwannee River as it meets the Gulf of Mexico, a landscape defined by a labyrinth of salt marshes and tidal creeks. This coastal environment is marked by numerous islands such as Bradford Island, Hog Island, and the larger Bumblebee Island to the north. Navigation through this marshland is facilitated by a network of natural channels, including Wadley Pass and Alligator Pass, while the offshore waters are dominated by the extensive Suwannee Reef and Halfmoon Reef.
