Sycamore Flat and Grandmas Flat sit at the southern edge of the Sierra de Salinas where the canyon floors provide rare level ground in this mountain terrain. The landscape is defined by the sharp elevations of the Santa Lucia Range and Paloma Ridge, reaching peaks like Eli Peak and Twin Peaks. Evidence of ranching history and backcountry access is found at Millers Ranch and along a network of remote routes including Abbott Ranch Rd and Paloma Ridge Truck Trl.
