The Snake River carves a deep path through this borderland between Oregon and Idaho, defining the eastern edge of the Wallowa National Forest. The landscape is dominated by steep drainage systems and narrow ridges, such as Wing Ridge and Summit Ridge, which drop precipitously toward the river canyon. This 2014 survey documents the complex network of creeks that feed into the main stem, including Temperance Creek and Kirkwood Cr.
