The Colorado River winds through the southeastern corner of this Kane County landscape, carving through the deep stone of Glen Canyon. Much of the territory is defined by the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, where the rising waters of Lake Powell meet the rugged geology of the Water Pocket Fold. The map reveals a dramatic desert terrain of deep incisions and high plateaus, including Lost Eden Canyon and the prominent Iron Top Mesa.
