1951 Map of Three Churches

USGS Topo · Published 1977

About this map

Indian Creek and its many winding tributaries define this deeply dissected corner of Wayne County, where the Tennessee Valley Authority and USGS recorded the rural landscape's 1951 character with 1975 revisions. The settlement pattern is largely confined to the valleys and small clearings, notably at Three Churches and Cromwell Crossroads. Higher elevations like Baptist Hill and Dogwood Flats remain wooded, while the southeastern corner is carved by the modern path of the Natchez Trace Parkway.
