The rugged boundary between Josephine County and Curry County is defined by high ridgelines and deep river canyons in this 1990s revision. The Kalmiopsis Wilderness dominates the southern half of the sheet, where the Chetco River carves a path past river bars like Chetco Bar and Taggarts Bar. In the north, the Illinois National Wild and Scenic River flows through the Siskiyou National Forest, overlooked by prominent summits such as Hayward Peak and Heather Mountain.
