The high plateau landscape of Toh Atin Mesa and Dry Mesa defines this corner of the Shiprock Agency region, where tribal routes and desert washes intersect. Evidence of industrial activity is centered at the Rattlesnake Mine near the southern boundary, situated in the shadow of the Corrizo Mountains. The map reveals a complex network of transportation through the arid terrain, including Indian Rte-35 and Indian Rte-5049, which follow the natural contours of the land and the drainage of Tsitah Wash. This 2011 survey by the U.S. Geological Survey captures the modern state of these remote mesas, where livestock roads and utility paths connect isolated sites between Red Mesa and the northern reaches of the Chuska range foothills.
