1969 Map of Trio

USGS Topo · Published 1972

About this map

Trio serves as the central settlement in this late 1960s landscape, situated where the limestone-cut creek beds of the Balcones Escarpment begin to flatten toward the coastal plain. The terrain is defined by a dense network of seasonal drainage's and springs, such as Reiner Springs and the winding Sabinal River on the eastern edge. Prominent elevations like Ringtail Mountain and Sinks Hill dominate the northern half of the quadrangle, which is cut by deep ravines including Catclaw Hollow and West Hollow.
