Noxon Reservoir dominates this portion of the Clark Fork valley, where the town of Trout Creek serves as a local hub near the mouth of the Vermilion River. The landscape is defined by the steep, gulch-cut slopes of the Kaniksu National Forest, with named drainages like Belgian Gulch and Twenty Odd Gulch carving the terrain toward the water. On the east side of the reservoir, Honey Flat provides a rare level bench of land above the shoreline, while the higher elevations are marked by Copper Ridge. To the south, the landscape transitions into the drainage of White Pine Cr, where the Whitepine Cem stands as a quiet marker of the area's local history. The network of forest roads and trails, such as Little Forest Trl and Vermillion Point Rd, illustrates the intersection of timber management and recreation in this part of Sanders County.
