Noxon Reservoir and the Clark Fork define the central corridor of this Western Montana landscape, where the waters are held at a normal pool elevation of 2331 feet. The settlement of Trout Creek serves as a primary point of reference on the western bank, situated along the drainage of Trout Creek and Little Trout Creek. This 1990s revision reflects a landscape largely dominated by the Kaniksu National Forest, managed by the Kootenai National Forest and partitioned into the Cabinet Ranger District.
