Lake Pend Oreille defines the western edge of this Idaho mountain landscape, where the small lakeside settlements of Hope and Trestle Creek sit at the base of the Cabinet Mountains. Most of the terrain is dominated by the Kaniksu National Forest, a network of steep ridgelines and high summits including Trout Peak, Mt Eagen, and Grief Mtn. The map traces the vital connection of State Highway 200 as it skirts the shoreline and the broad Pack River Flats.
