Lynch Twin Buttes Cem and Barber Cem provide quiet markers of early Logan County settlement on this high plains landscape. The terrain is defined by a complex network of man-made irrigation features and natural drainage systems that support the regional agricultural economy. Water management is central to the area's layout, visible in the extensive N Sterling Outlet Canal and numerous lateral ditches like N Sterling Lateral Number 47 and Byers Ditch. The physical geography is anchored by the prominent Twin Buttes in the southeastern quadrant, which rises above the confluence of Hawk Springs Draw and Duck Cr. This 2022 survey illustrates how the grid of county roads, such as Co RD 70 and Co RD 85, interacts with the natural contours of McCracken Draw and the Johnson Draw Reservoir.
