The hills of central Texas meet modern expansion in this survey of the area northwest of Copperas Cove. While the city’s residential grid pushes toward the west, much of the surrounding terrain remains defined by named elevations like Herzog Mtn, Long Mtn, and the Twin Mountains themselves. These limestone-carved landscapes are cut by numerous small drainages such as Settlement Br and Ripstein Cr, which have long dictated the placement of rural roads and homesteads.
