Olympic National Forest and Olympic National Park converge in this high-altitude section of the Olympic Peninsula. The terrain is defined by dramatic ridgelines including Deer Ridge and Three O'Clock Ridge, where elevations rise sharply from the river valleys. A complex network of watercourses, such as the Gray Wolf River and Dungeness River, carves through the landscape, supported by numerous tributaries like Slab Camp Cr and Cameron Creek. Notable summits such as Tyler Peak, Baldy, and Maynard Peak dominate the southern half of the sheet.
