Canyonlands National Park dominates this topography, defined by the stark verticality of the White Rim and the enigmatic structure of Upheaval Dome. The landscape is a network of deep canyons and massive mesas, including Buck Mesa and Steer Mesa, which separate the lower river basins from the high plateau of the Island in the Sky. Along the western edge, the Green River carves through Stillwater Canyon, creating isolated lowlands such as Valentine Bottom and Upheaval Bottom.
