Sheyenne National Grassland dominates the southeastern portion of this Ransom County quadrangle, showing a complex landscape of prairie conservation and managed land. The Sheyenne River meanders through the western terrain, crossed by the Heaton Bridge along 67th St SE. This area of North Dakota retains a largely rural, agricultural character, anchored by the small settlement of Venlo near the northern boundary.
