The high-altitude drainage systems of West Fork Rio Brazos and East Fork Rio Brazos define the landscape of this northern New Mexico survey. Located along the state border, the area is characterized by seasonal camps and administrative outposts rather than dense settlements. The Apache Forest Service Facility and Huffaker Cabin are tucked into the northern reaches near Apache Canyon, while livestock-rearing heritage is evident at Burn Cow Camp and Rivera Cow Camp.
