The Mojave Desert terrain dominates this 2015 survey of the remote arid landscape west of Leach Spring. The map is defined by significant elevation changes, rising into the southern reaches of the Granite Mountains in the southeastern quadrant. This high-desert environment shows very little modern development, preserving the primitive character of the land as it was documented by the U.S. Geological Survey in the mid-2010s.
