About this map

Mountain Meadows Reservoir dominates the southern half of this landscape in eastern Lassen County, its expansive waters fed by tributaries like Goodrich Cr, Robbers Cr, and Duffy Cr. The surrounding terrain is defined by the volcanic highlands of the Lassen National Forest, where prominent peaks such as Goodrich Mtn and Hamilton Mtn overlook a series of high-altitude basins, including McKenzie Meadows and the namesake Mountain Meadows. While much of the area remains undeveloped forest and wetland, local history is rooted near the Westwood Cem along Old Town Rd. The presence of small water bodies like Rice Lake and Duck Lake further highlights the complex hydrology of this high-country environment, which serves as a transition between the northern Sierra Nevada and the Cascade Range.
