Big Norris Spring and Little Norris Spring serve as critical water points in this arid stretch of Val Verde County. The landscape is defined by a complex drainage network where Middle Dolan Cr and W Dolan Cr converge to form the main stem of Dolan Cr. These ephemeral waterways have carved distinct topographic features into the Edwards Plateau, including the deep incisions of Threemile Draw and White Draw. The presence of Deep Hollow in the southwest further illustrates the highly eroded nature of this limestone country. Human activity is represented primarily by Dolan Creek Rd, which tracks the natural corridors provided by the creek beds. This 2016 survey captures the area’s remote character, where ranching infrastructure and natural springs remain the primary markers of settlement and survival.
