Deary Pasture and the steep, complex drainage of the Owyhee Canyon anchor the southwestern corner of this high-desert landscape. The terrain is defined by a dense network of water management features, including Jaca Reservoir, Slipper Reservoir, and Seldom Reservoir, which support ranching operations across the arid plateaus of Malheur County. These man-made catchments are linked by seasonal drainages such as Mud Flat Creek and Soldier Creek.
