The high plains of eastern Montana define this rural expanse in Rosebud County, where a network of ephemeral drainages carves through the landscape. This 2014 survey by the U.S. Geological Survey provides a clear view of the watercourses that sustain this ranching country, including the winding Louie and Scottie Cr which meanders across the center of the township. In the northern reaches, the upper headwaters of S Sunday Cr and Lone Tree Cr illustrate the subtle topography and drainage patterns characteristic of the region north of the Yellowstone River. The map is primarily organized by the Public Land Survey System, showing the divisions of t10n r43e and t9n r43e, and concludes in the southeast with the drainage of Coal Cr.
