2021 Map of Wilderness

USGS Topo · Published 2021

About this map

Wilderness lies at the heart of this Missouri landscape, situated within the Mark Twain National Forest along the border of Carter and Oregon counties. The terrain is defined by a complex network of hollows, including Gold Mine Hollow, Stillhouse Hollow, and Larimore Hollow, which drain toward the south. Along the southwestern edge of the quadrangle, the Eleven Point Wild and Scenic River carves a deep path through the plateau, most notably at the sharp turn of Horseshoe Bend.
