Wolf Fang Peak and the nearby Wolf Fangs dominate this section of the Payette National Forest, where the high-altitude divide between the Salmon River and Payette River drainages is mapped in great detail. The landscape is defined by its water systems, including the headwaters of Porphyry Cr and the complex drainage of the Middle Fork Smith Cr. These waterways carve deep canyons between prominent high points like Rattlesnake Peak and Mt Eldridge.
